Asbestos Surveys & Testing
Asbestos Surveys & Testing
Outlined in the HSG guidelines, there are two primary categories of surveys: Asbestos Management Surveys and Asbestos Refurbishment/Demolition Surveys.
Asbestos Management Survey
The Asbestos Management Survey is a standardized approach used to identify, as far as reasonably possible, the presence, extent, and condition of asbestos in a building. This survey involves sampling and analyzing materials to gather information, which is then presented in a report. The purpose of this survey is to guide the client in managing and undertaking necessary remedial actions. Management surveys aim to minimize intrusion and disturbance and primarily focus on sampling and assessing surface-level materials. They are suitable for various stakeholders, including home buyers, landlords, business owners, and compliance purposes.
Asbestos Refurbishment/Demolition Surveys
Asbestos Refurbishment/Demolition Surveys involve comprehensive inspection methods that are intrusive and may involve destructive techniques. The primary objective is to identify the extent of all asbestos-containing materials within the designated refurbishment area or throughout the entire property if demolition is intended. These surveys can be tailored to specific requirements, ranging from small-scale repairs to localised maintenance or broader demolition projects.
Asbestos Testing
We offer asbestos sample testing to isolated areas when a full survey is not necessary.
* All of our samples taken during surveys or one-off sampling exercises are analysed in one of our approved UKAS accredited labs.
